About Coaching Cards
Everything I know about coaching soccer is in these Coaching Card sets.
Over the years I collected drills and wrote them down on index cards. I
found I could easily pull together a practice for whatever team I was
coaching.
As I started working with other coaches as a Director of Coaching, I found
myself handing out these cards or making copies. I used them in my soccer
camps when working with other coaches; I used them for organizing stations.
As I went along, it became apparent that many coaches--new ones and old
ones--could benefit from a system of practice activities on pocket-size
cards.
I developed the first edition of Coaching Cards for Soccer in 1994. Since
then I have revised the original Senior Edition four times. I created the
Junior Edition in 1999 recognizing that younger players thrive on a fun and
games approach to learning. I am very pleased with the results.
Coaching Cards are now used over the world. I proudly send orders to
England, Australia, Canada, South Africa, Ireland, and other soccer-loving
countries. I can count on one hand the number of sets I've returned in the
last nine years as part of our guarantee.
Experience
I currently serve as the Executive Director for Bay Area SCORES, a soccer
and literacy program for urban youth in San Francisco
(www.bayareascores.org). Prior to this position, I served as the
professional Director of Coaching for Table Mountain Soccer Association in
Golden, Colorado. I also served as the Director of Developmental Coaching
for the Colorado State Youth Soccer Association.
From the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), I have earned the following:
the Premier National Coaching Diploma
the Advanced National Coaching Diploma
the National Coaching Diploma
I also hold the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) "Youth National License."
I've been a speaker at the NSCAA annual convention and at the US Youth
Soccer annual convention.
Again, everything I know about running soccer practices, I've tried to put
into these cards. I've tried to make it easy for coaches to run good,
effective practices.
